There are three classes of members, each outlined below.
Organizational Members
An Organizational Member is a member who is not an individual, but is rather an organization (typically a company). Each Organizational Member is entitled to a number of votes according to its Membership Level (see side panel to right). Each Organizational Member is represented by and acts through a delegate, who is an individual appointed by the Organizational Member.
Affiliate Members
An Affiliate Member is an individual who is an employee or other appointee of an Organizational Member. Affiliate Members do not pay dues and have no voting rights; however, they may participate in MDRF meetings and activities. Organizational Members may appoint up to four Affiliate Members in addition to their appointed voting delegate.
Consulting Members
A Consulting Member is an individual, such as a member of the research community or a current or former regulatory professional, who is invited by the Board of Directors to join the MDRF. Consulting Members do not pay dues and have no voting rights; however, they may participate in MDRF meetings and activities.
